Well it was my 6 monthly appointment with my Rheumatologist today and I got the works....... Sent straight for an X ray on my hands, wrists, ankles, and feet. Sat and then waited for my appointment, my Rhummy is lovely, she said the x rays are super, no change or progression of RA. She asked lots of questions and checked over all my joints and was really pleased with me. Then I was sent for more blood tests to check Vitamin D levels and cholesterol levels. I had to take a sample in to check for diabetes too. Thankfully all is well at the moment. I get the other results in 3 - 6 weeks, the vitamin D takes longer, seemingly we are all to be tested for this as the winters are so much worse. She had said if there was a problem we would be put on a supplement.

She went on to say she wished she got more people diagnosed as quick as I was because the outcome has been so positive. I had ordered lots of copies of Nras 's Inflammatory Arthritis Posters and I am putting them up everywhere, in all the shops and surgeries Hospitals etc. I hope I can help other people be diagnosed as quick as I was.

Keep Well Everyone

Hi Lorna

That's great news for you and yes you are inspirational, really motivational. I looked around my doctors surgery the other day and there was absolutely nothing at all about RA. BUT THERE IS NOW.

Take care

hi Lorna,

glad to hear you are doing well, and re-assuring that your X-Rays showed no change.

must give you a lift to know your meds are doing their job and you stay well on them.

hope you are keeping warm up there,

take care,

Hi Lorna,

That was a really good appointment. I bet it was great to be told you have no bone erosions, you are very fortunate to have responded so well to the meds.
I had my Calcium and Vit D checked 6 months ago and both were very low.

Keep warm and safe up there in Scotland!
Love, Doreen xx

Great news Lorna! I tbink it gives you a huge boost to have a good appointment.

I'm just about to start Vit B injections, so it is very important to get the levels checked.

Take care

Hi Lorna

They are certainly treating you well on the NHS in Scotland! Great you are doing so well and receiving such excellent treatment.

In the 22 years since I was diagnosed I haven't once had X-Rays of any joints until it has become obvious that damage exists! Now everything has eroded and will no doubt require surgical intervention to improve things. Don't think I've had Vit D or calcium checked either but I have been on Adcal for years as a precautionary measure!!

You are receiving fabulous care, do make the most of it!
